Field of Research
Our work aims at investigating the properties of neuronal circuits and their fundamental computations. As sensory information processing always takes place in the context of behavioral goals, we are particularly interested in studying how neuronal circuit function is modulated by cognitive factors, such as expectations, attention, or decision making. To address these questions, we measure the activity of local neuronal populations using multi-electrode recordings and voltage-sensitive dye imaging in the visual system of awake, behaving rodents.
