Neuroscientific Talks and Events in Tübingen
Throughout the year, many important scientists have been invited to present their research to the thriving neuroscientific community in Tübingen. The CIN and its members have been active participants since 2008, with the CIN providing resources and other forms of support for a wide range of events, some of which are one off and others regularly occurring series. Along with the HIH, GTC and MPI, it is one of the supporters of the Neuro-colloquium, a public seminar series to which all those interested students are invited. Over the years it has run, it has dealt with a vast range of neuroscientific topics, and continues to attract renowned scientists who give high-profile talks. The Monday Neurobiological Colloquium, staged at the HIH at regular intervals, is another forum to present research work not only in Tübingen, but also internationally.
The CIN has also formed an important partnership with the Forum Scientiarum, a central institution of the University of Tübingen which is designed to promote dialogue between the humanities and the natural sciences in research and teaching. The CIN and the Forum have developed the Tübingen International Summer School (TISS), an annual event based around a topic of common interest to the neurosciences and humanities that is designed to attract PhD students and postdoctoral fellows, with the aim of encouraging potential researchers from around Germany and overseas to experience Tübingen. Some funding is offered to pay for travel and other expenses (details available from the Forum Scientiarum). The CIN also provides funding and organizational support for the annual CIN Dialogues at the Interface of the Neurosciences and the Arts and Humanities.
CIN members may apply for funding to support their events: information is available on the internal pages of the site (login required.)
