Sub-Committees

The Board for the Advancement of Women (BAW) aims to promote gender equality; to further a family-friendly environment; promote gender awareness, support networking among female researchers at the CIN, and further the career of female scientists. Members of the BAW include CIN professors, scientific staff, as well as representatives of the student body. They meet on a regular basis to discuss current issues and action to promote gender equality.

The CIN Education and Training Committee consists of six scientists and lecturers at the CIN. The board advises the Graduate Training Centre (GTC) and meets once a year to discuss - in close coordination with the Steering Committees of the individual schools - measures to further improve neuroscience graduate training in Tübingen, to foster the integration of new CIN scientists into the GTC, and to ensure that the CIN’s specific research profile is highlighted by means of specific courses for doctoral students.

The Integration of the Humanities Committee’s mission is to represent the incorporation of the humanities into the CIN's research programme.

The Brain Imaging Committee’s mission is to represent the interests of users of brain imaging facilities within the CIN. It serves as a platform for strategic discussions about future developments of neuroimaging in Tübingen and seeks to find solutions where there are problems related to the usage of imaging labs

The aim of the Industrial Cooperation Sub-Committee is to improve the transfer of basic scientific findings into potential commercial products. To that end it gathers information about existing contacts with companies and makes them available to CIN members. Together with the university and the Faculty of Medicine office for technology transfer, it helps to identify companies who are potentially interested in up-and-coming applications and gives advice to CIN scientists regarding patenting procedures, intellectual property rights and licensing fees/compensation.
